Four leagues have joined the 2016 American Cricket Federation’s (ACF) Newbery American Cricket Champions League (NACCL). This week the ACF welcomed the Bay Area Cricket Alliance, Nevada Cricket Premier League, Sands Cricket Association, and Utah Cricket Alliance to its fold and the NACCL family.

The four leagues will test the competiveness and joy of inter-league competition in a quest to qualify for the play-offs later this year. The four leagues joining the ACF’s national domestic circuit is indicative of the new confidence now sweeping across the United States, as a result of the ICC stepping in and affording USA cricket players’ opportunities to compete to represent not only America, but the Americas region, through its national Combines now in progress.

The NACCL complements the ICC initiative, affording cricketers more genuine opportunities to raise the standard of their game, and to demonstrate to national selectors the extent of the talent available in the USA. It is of paramount importance that the USA sustains the interest and enthusiasm of all cricketers, while allowing those qualified enough to stand out for regional and national selection.

Despite the uncertainty of where USA cricket is headed administratively, the ACF is committed to its task of helping cricket grow, and is determined to see the NACCL grow from strength to strength, while providing every opportunity for all players in the country to stay focused and to compete on the national level.
